gifts for massage clients
We're talking holiday gifts for our massage clients!
Over the years I’ve done the usual $10 off the massage session, an extra 10 min no charge, free add ons…
Last year I made a homemade hot chocolate mix + homemade marshmallows (they’re surprisingly easy!) which were a HUGE hit. Everyone loved leaving their massage appointment with a cozy drink.
This year I decided to do client gift bags, full of some of their favorite things. These can be a little tricky + quickly get away from you because all the little things add up.
Step 1: find a doable price point per client.
Usually the easiest way to calculate this is first decide your budget, then back into it based on the number of clients you have.
Budget: $500
Number of clients receiving a gift bag: 50
Price per client: $10
For me, my budget was $250 - I could maybe push it to $300 if I found things I really wanted to include that were a little pricey. But that’s my max. I have 50 clients receiving a gift…so my goal is $5/client.
Step 2: gather ideas
I scour amazon (I know, I don’t love it either but here we are) + create a list of things that might work. Here’s where our personal preference come in. I’m an aggressive de-clutterer, so you won’t see me gifting {things} just to gift {things} that will hang out in trunks for eternity or immediately get thrown in the Goodwill box. Some people love to gift things with their logo on it. Some massage therapists love to make things like scrubs, teas, + salves.
You do you. The best gifts come from the heart + are things we enjoy giving, so choose things you love.
Step 3: narrow down the list + see what fits with your budget
What did you find that you REALLY want to include? What no longer looks cool? What is out of your price range? Create a shorter list of what’s going to make the cut. Then double check the numbers + make sure you’re hitting that doable price point. If you’re making things, like a shea butter lotion, be sure to include EVERYTHING you need - like the jars, the lids, ribbons, labels, etc.
Step 4: spend that cash!
Cha-ching! Place those orders! Be mindful of lead times on things, especially as you get closer to the holidays + shipping times take longer. It’s better to order a little early + let it sit in the closet then scramble at the last-minute cause the last package arrived the day you wanted to start handing them out.
Step 5: assemble the bags!
We might need to back up here - did you include the cost of the gift bags, packaging, ribbons, gift paper, bows, etc that you need to create this little treats? That’s my fault, I should have mentioned it in Step 2, but lucky for us, you read ahead. Once you have all your goodies delivered, put everything together and viola! Happy clients!
Gift bags for clients can be fun + creative way to show clients how much you appreciate that. Or welcome in new clients with a little perk. Buying in bulk makes it more affordable, as long as we plan ahead + stick to a budget.

The packaging
These brown kraft paper bags
This red yard for ribbon
This holiday tissue paper
What’s inside
This essential oil + these tiny bottles to make a linen spray (this is what I use in my practice every day)
These micro nail files - great to keep in the car or toss in your purse
These shower steamers - so good for cold + flu season!
These eye masks that look luxurious but are so affordable
Some yummy chocolate cause who doesn’t want a sweet treat
And finally, a sample size of Clinic level 5 pain relief ointment. I use this in my treatment room + clients love it. This was my high ticket item + I watched Massage Warehouse emails for sales to get it a little cheaper. With your massage license, you’ll get it at wholesale cost.
